The Casaglia (Ferrara, Italy) subsurface model

The following animations [Video-1] , and [Video-2] illustrate the modeling of the main geological interfaces of the culminating sector of the Ferrara arc "Dorsale Ferrarese", west of the city of Ferrara (Casaglia village). This geological structure contains the medium enthalpy geothermal reservoir that feeds the district heating system that serves a large part of the city of Ferrara. The site is monitored from a seismic point of view by an ad-hoc network of sensors. These are the results of a collaborative project between ENI, Ravenna headquarters and the research group led by Professor Giovanni Santarato (University of Ferrara, Department of Physics and Earth Sciences). As a postdoctoral researcher, I have actively collaborated to the project, producing the differentiated discretization subsurface portion presented in the video, which purpose is to simulate the propagation of seismic waves, and simulate shaking scenarios.< / p>
